You guys still rock!!! I caught your show in Frankfort,ky at the Hisitorical Society opening. It was cool to see you guys still belt out tunes like "milkman". I swung by Fred's place not long ago to see if he had any old tractors to trade but he wasn't around. Keep up the pace. The next gig you cats have in good ol' KY, I'll be there. Via con dios. Butch Blankenship P.S. I was in Bowling Green from May till Dec. How come you guys never drop into the CT Farm and Country Store? I could've cut you some deals on some farm stuff. See ya!! '

When I was eleven or twelve years old, my friends took me to see Hank Williams Jr. and the Kentucky Headhunters play in Evansville, In. This was around 1989 or 1990 or thereabouts. The Headhunters came out first, and brother, they put on A SHOW! If I look around long enough, I might still be able to find the dollar bills with the band members faces that they threw out at the concert. It may have been a country act, but as far as I was concerned, the Headhunters were a rock band, and a rockin' band, at that. There sense of humor was influential, as well as the sense that even if you lived in Bum@@##, Kentucky, you could still make it out and see the world. My music doesn't sound a lick like them, but thanks to all the Headhunters for the inspiration.

Got recomended the 'Songs from ....' album, got it, love it, toured Germany with my band listenin' to it the last couple of weeks, and nearly got in some trouble with the Politzei (ask Doug - mailed him with the story). Anyway, great album. I have a great story about how the word came to me, strange, but then we know how He works sometimes. Too long for here so I'll mail it.

Hello Greg, This is Dan from the Ponderosa in Russellville. Good to see ya'll are doing so well with the new CD. I personally think it is your best work ever. I was surprised to see in the memorials about Fred Cecil. Could you or Richard or Fred get in touch with me so I can find out what happened to him. We used to play in Creation Band together and he was a good friend and fellow musician. I have also met a new friend that i play with and I would love for you to get him to sit in on your next project, If you need a fiddle player. His name is Vassar Clements. I play with him on Tuesdays in Nashville. If you are interested, let me knopw and I will talk to him about getting together with you. Again the new one is GREAT!!!!!!! Tell the rest of the guys I said hello.

Hey, brother, what's up? Just thought that I would write and let you know that you are a very big inspiration to me. I guess you know that though. I have liked the Heads music since the first time that I heard you guys on the Chitlin' show. It really was a dream come true for me to get to jam with you. I am still playing the washburn that I told you about. By the way, my guidedog Desi says ruff ruff. He also likes music. The next time that I run in to you, I have a good joke to tell you. It is the one about the Wildcats and the Cardinals. I am still hoping to get that Epiphone Les Paul Custom that we discussed at the founders day celebration. Tell Richard that I said shame on him for breaking that guitar. Well, I guess I will go for now, but remember that you and all the other guys are in my prayers. Keep me in yours. I am such a big fan that back in 92', i had a tattoo of the 'Pickin on Nashville' album cover done on my left shoulder, which i proudly display to this day. Also, please tell Fred for me that i think he is an awesome drummer, and has been a major influence in the past and present. Congratulations on the new release, too. I havent' heard it yet, but, juding from past Headhunters music, i'll bet it will be excellent. Thanks for keeping it alive, guys.Brad

Greg, Your site is great! I'm a new fan of the Headhunters. I've spent the past 6 years running a local fan club for Metallica in North and South Carolina, and listening solely to metal. You guys brought Mr. Jessico into my life approximately 6 weeks ago, courtesy of my employer. Since my introduction to the Headhunters, I've acquired 4 albums, and 1 out of print video, thanks to the internet. I had basically stopped listening to music, except at work. I find that your music brings joy into my life again. I've never been exposed to such eclectic offerings from one band! Most bands perform within their genre... the Headhunters know NO boundaries. I call it FOGGY MOUNTAIN METAL. I'll continue my search to expand my collection of Headhunters material and becoming an even bigger fan. I can't wait to see you guys live!! Y'all keep on keepin' on..and I'll keep on talking you up!! Thank you for years of great music I look forward to discovering. God Bless, Denise

Hey there Greg, I just got your new CD today and wanted to say that I think it is awesome. I really admire you for being so firm and open in your Christian faith and beliefs. Keep me in your prayers as I am going through college to get a Bible and a youth ministries major at Kentucky Christian College. I've still got Richard in my prayers and believe I'll see him in church soon just like everyone else there at Wisdom Church. I don't think my dad (Earlene) will give up until he comes. Come on over and bring Richard and Fred with you one day. In Christ, Chris Branstetter Psalm 119:10

Greg, Pat and I really enjoyed meeting you at the benefit concert at WKU. We should have photos back this week. Sam had been telling us a lot about your playing and commitment to the Lord. Great remembering the 60's and early 70's with you. We bought Sam's first guitar from Marvin's son, Mark Maxwell. Thanks for taking time and being a friend, an example, a witness, and an encouragement to our son. I've visited your site numerous times. What a delight it was to hear you play... We look forward to seeing you again soon. Maybe there will be time for hot wings and bar-b-que next time. My desire and prayer for you is found in the third epistle of John, the second verse. Hey guys, I just took a listen to the new track off of the new album. Sounds great! I'm loving that gritty sound Greg. Very reminiscent of the first two albums. I've been playing alot of your stuff lately on the guitar, and friends of mine will come up to me asking where I developed my style, saying, "Is that ZZtop? No, wait...extremely bluesy yet also very reminiscent of Joe Perry, oh I give up, who is it?" So I'll pop in a Headhunters cd and their eyes will light up and their mouths will drop and they will say, "Teach me to play that, Please, you have to." It's great to hear you play man...with alot of the guitarists around here getting extremely fed up with todays new Rock sound ((all powerchords w/ no technicality)), alot of them are moving back to earlier rock and blues, which a large part is in thanks to you Greg. You keep the guitar REAL!!! And to the rest of you guys, keep up the great work as well. Life just wouldn't be the same w/out the HEADHUNTERS!!!

I love the music you've made over the last decade or so. The whole attitude of the Headhunters is very positive; it looks like you guys are having a great time when you're making music together. I'm a guitarist who enjoys all the musical styles that you guys draw on. My two sons (three-year-old twins) are big fans of the first two Headhunter albums. They love to sing along with "Dumas Walker," "Wlak Softly...," "Chitlin Time," and "Davy Crockett" among others. Keep kickin' them blues around--Good luck and God Bless.

Greetings from the Outer Banks. I have a couple of old Fenders my father in law (Baptist preacher) lets me piddle with but I have to say I love the Les Paul sounds you get, and your refreshing style. Just a note to say I've admired you, your fine playin', and your stand for Jesus Christ. Best of luck to you in the future, and I think you sound just great on "Stompin' Grounds." Your brother in Christ, Danny. I used to date a girl in Glasgow about 1989 - she worked at Jerry's restaurant in town. Her dad was superintendent at Mammoth Cave. We went our seperate ways but I bet if I ever saw her again she'd never stop talking about the headhunters. God Bless.

Great mix of music, Greg! I love the blues. Combined with the classic rock and occasional gospel number (not to mention the somtimes funny commercials and weather reports), it becomes even a richer experience. I started listening to you yesterday (6/7/99) at the office, where my boss told me it would be okay for me to listen to broadcast (webcast?) sites on the Internet through my new multimedia PC, so long as it didn't interfere with my work. It doesn't usually, except (as you might observe) at a time like this where I'm writing you. My department's server computers are down right now, though, so there's not much else for me to do. Keep up the great Internet broadcasts!

That's not to say that there isn't room for more... And this is the place for MORE! Thanks, BruceR [:-)>

Hello Greg, I'm a big fan of the "Lowdown Hoedown" and I love the blues played on your show. Given that I live in Australia (the musical backwater), the only way I can listen to your show is through the Internet. However, I would like to request a song(s) for you to play on your next show, but you don't appear to have an Email Address for requests to be forwarded to - and telephoning is out of the question for obvious reasons. Could you please setup an Email Address so that those of us who don't live in US can request a song(s). Thanks.

Just found out about your "Virtual Broadcast" from the Broadcast.com website...I've only listened to about the first hour, and I DIG IT!!! Your show jams, and I will be an avid listener throughout the coming months. We can't get any "live" blues shows on any of the stations except for Sunday afternoons on the Public Radio Station, hosted by one Mick Martin (of Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers). I like the show put on by "Steamin'" Stan Ruffo out of Visalia, CA (way down south o' here) also posted by Broadcast.com, but I did the totally different flavor of your show. KEEP IT UP! And keep the harmonica tunes flowin', too. (I dabble a bit on the ol' harp, too...) =) ---Ron
