musician Eddy Shaver. Eddy was a very soulful guitarist that played from the
heart, he will be missed by fellow musicians and fans alike. Our condolences

John Edwin (Eddy) Shaver died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. Services will be at 2
p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment at Waco Memorial Park.
Eddy was a world class guitar player and singer/song writer. He played lead
guitar for Dwight Yokum for two years and went on to produce and play on many
rock and roll and blues albums. Eddy was the main ingredient and music
arranger of Shaver the Father and Son Duo. Eddy played guitar on his first
session with Willie Nelson and was associated with all the great artists of
our time, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yokum,
Booker T., Dickie Betts (Ramblin Man) and David Allan Coe to name a few. Eddy
played lead guitar for Guy Clark when he was 15 years old.
Eddy will be greatly missed by his close friends and fellow players, Freddy
Fletcher and Dahr Jamail. Eddy is a Christian and brother of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. Eddy will as he wrote in his song Live Forever. Eddy
was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Joyce Tindell Shaver.
He is survived by his father, Billy Joe Shaver; his wife, Irene Triola
Shaver, who he married Oct. 19, 2000; his aunt Patricia Shaver; and numerous
cousins and friends.
